HOW TO PREVENT TRENCH FAILURE
Most engineering trench failure can be attributed to failure to install a cage to withhold the walls of dirt suspended after excavation. The likelyhood of a collapse becomes even more prominent in conditions of wet soil such as the event of heavy rainfall. A general idea of how to prevent the incident can be found here http://www.engineering.com/Library/ArticlesPage/tabid/85/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/173/Trench-Failure.aspx
SAFETY IN TRENCH CONSTRUCITON
Trech construction mishaps have been the leading cause of death on construction sites over the past two years. This even occurs after all of OSHA's strict regulations. In the past, the liable party responsible for death caused by trench failure has been a serious gray area. This site http://ethics.tamu.edu/ethics/trench/trench.htm helps address some of the serious issues in trenching and the ethcical responsiblity one must undertake in trench construction.
